07 CLS wheel question

07 CLS wheel question
I have a Black 07 CLS550 and would like to put a set of Rims and Tires on it. Currently I have stock 18 inch rims and am looking to find a classy look. I live in Michigan and the roads are full of potholes due to the heavy trucks and salt. I think 20's might not give the side wall enough rubber to protect the rim. I have though of putting 18x8.5 in the front and 19x9.5 in the back. Has anyone done this or do you have any thought about the different size rims front to back. Any suggestions on rim style?

I got 19x8.5 and 19x9.5 cause massachusetts roads have way too many potholes for 20" wheels, i like the handling better with 20x11 and 20x9 wheels but they bend too easy with 30 series tires. Thanks for compliments

20 s all the way.......make the car look bananas......18 to 19 wont notice much difference....255/30 front n 305/25 rear it will be ok....if u get 3piece wheels a bit more stronger than cast wheels...but a pot hole is a pothole depending on how fast but 20 make the CLS......imo
