My CLS55 Build (This one is gonna be different)
I used everybody's experiences with their cars to help guide me in finding the right car, getting it checked out before I bought it and now starting do do some mods. I've owned it for about 5 months and HOLY S*** I LOVE IT!!!! I'm also amazed at how quickly I got used to the power and felt I needed to do some performance upgrades!
I got in touch with Jerry over at Eurocharged and ordered a Stage 1 Power Package and a TCU tune. Since then I've read a lot on here about the possible detonation issue in cylinder 8 with WOT pulls so I've decided to upgrade my injectors too.I come from a background of building hot rods and full custom Euro cars like VW's and Audi's where I have done some major metal and suspension work in order to get the look that I want, and I plan on doing the same with my new Beast. I have loved the look of these cars since the first one I saw at SEMA in 2005 so I won't be going too crazy on body mods (the car is Beautiful the way it sits) but I will be doing some minor body stuff, heavy suspension mods, and some wheels with an aggressive offset to set off the new low stance.
I am sure this build won't be for everybody and I'm prepared for the people who don't like the look I'm going for. One thing I can say is the car will handle and perform AT LEAST as good as it did stock. My co-workers and I at AccuAir Suspension plan on taking our cars to track days and pushing them hard to prove they aren't just for show.
I've attached some pictures of the car as it sits now and will throw updates on here any time I get something done. I've also included some pictures of my past builds and cars that I've done work on. Thank you to everyone on here. This forum has made my life much easier and answered many questions without even having to ask.
. Make sure you get a looped fuel rail to help with cyl. 8..
So me and Reno, who is one of the owners of AccuAir, spent Friday night doing some metal work to the hood to give it a smoother look. I had already been planning on having the front of the car repainted because the car had the front license plate bracket on it, and when I took it off there were six good sized holes in it. It also had some rock chips and scuffs from driving so those will all be taken care of as well. I have never been a fan of having two emblems on the front of the car but I really like the grill emblem and just picked up a one bar SL style grill for it, so I decided to shave the hood emblem off while I was getting it painted. I gotta say I've taken paint off a lot of cars to shave things and do body work, but this one hurt the most. The hood is aluminum so it's more difficult then an old Chevy too. The pictures show how it went. Turned out really nice! I'll post the finished pics of the front end in about a week when I get the car back and show the other stuff I had him do while it's there.

So I made it clear that I was shaving the hood emblem off, but the original reason for painting the front of the car was to get rid of the holes from the front plate and a bunch of rock chips. I decided while he was doing plastic work I'd have him get rid of some other things I didn't like as well.
List of things shaved / fixed:
1) Hood Emblem
2) License Plate Holes
3) Headlight Squirters (Don't worry I disconnected them first
)4) Side Marker Lights
5) Tow Hook Cover (Gonna fab something to bolt under the car to replace this)
I love it and feel like it gives the front a very clean look. I'm surprised how different the hood looks without the emblem! I also got my SL style one bar grille, and love the way it tucks back under the hood at the top.
So what do you guys think?
the bumper reflector delete looks really good; just got mine painted-over because I couldnt stand the ugly orange lol.

Thanks! First I have to say even the way your car looked in your old sig made me hunt down a white CLS, but holy sh#t, all the new mods make the car look amazing!
I've thought about doing the LED style fogs, but I'm not sold on them. I'm trying to keep a generally stock look but cleaner and change things that are hard to see at first glance. I'm not sure if it'll look as good as I hope it will though, so I might go more extreme.

I'd like to thank Jerry and Adam at Eurocharged for being patient with my questions and need for the parts quickly for a show. Very good guys over there.
Here are some updates though. I did the Eurocharged Bay Area tune day a few months ago and got the car dyno'd! Before I went up there I got Fabtech Performance's looped fuel rail and upgraded injectors! SUPER nice kit and comes with everything you need for an easy install. I'm trying to get some pictures that a friend of mine took to do a thread on the install. The car dyno'd at 460 HP and 550 lbft. to the wheels! The drive home was fun!

I also got the wheels I ordered from Avant Garde Wheels. The are their Form 420 SPEC1 series. I wanted a mixture of race and class and I think the wheels are perfect. AG Wheels goes all out on their wheels with pocketing and balancing to make sure that you don't loose performance or comfort. Below are some pics of the wheels on and off the car. I also did Toyo Proxey T1R tires. These tires make a HUGE difference in handling and putting the power down. Wheels are 20x9 front and 20x11 rear with 255x30x20 front tires and 305x25x20 rear tires.
I also did the 2009-10 taillight upgrade, which makes the back of the car look 1000 times better. And lastly I spent last weekend painting all my calipers a 2006 Gallardo pearl orange. I decided to keep the AMG logos so I bought new ones and re-applied them, then shot clear over them. I used the G2 Caliper paint, but ended up buying a small HVLP paint gun to spray them because the way they expect you to do it with a brush is terrible.
