Blacking out head light frame
...unfortunately I'm here in small Hong Kong and I do not prefer to send out the head lights!
Local shops do not reply to my mails...
Is there a DIY somewhere?
Does it need a special coating or is normal car paint good enough?
Or is there maybe a HK guy around who can help?
Any advice appreciated!
Could you tell me more?
Was it hard to remove the glass? ...did you use a heat gun?
What you used for spraying and what preparations were done before spraying?
What you used and how you sealed the head lights when assembling?
Sorry if I ask too many questions, but it is easy to ruin it and then it gets costy!

The plastic (not glass), is awkward to remove, but so are all headlights that you try to pry apart, the key is lots of heat (I used a heat gun) to soften the glue/sealant and then you need to slowly pry the plastic from the backing...it does require lots of patience and a few prying tools - screw drivers etc.
Also dont forget to remove the metal clips around the headlight first!
I used Plasti-dip as it requires no prep work and I had lots left over from my grill. If you are using normal paint, just rub down the housings, then prime, then sand, then paint black/colour of your choice.
I used a product called Tiger Seal to bond the lights back together, and im happy to report there is no misting in the headlights!
