TPMS QUESTION
If I take my stock wheels off car with original sensors and I decide to put a different set of wheels on the car with the same frequency sensor does it have to be program, Or can I just reset on the dashboard And it will automatically detect the new but same style sensors.
2008 CLS550 , I picked up a set of tpms sensors used.
Any feedback about this would be appreciated

Thanks , maybe I will break the bead on stock tire/wheel and use those. I have a guy at tire shop and he said he can reprogram, I guess I will see what is cheaper to do. Either way it will work.
Thanks for the information.

Here is how to Relearn New Sensor Ids.
Ensure all tires are inflated to the pressure listed on the tire placard. Vehicle must be driven for at least 10 minutes, while maintaining speed above 15 mph in order for system to learn new sensor IDs. If spare tire sensor ID is being programmed, a properly formatted scan tool is necessary.

I have two sets of wheels - 1 set for winter & 1 set for summer. I swap my wheels out twice a year and simply reset the TPMS using the driver info center (nothing done to the individual sensors) and I'm good to go. Soooo much easier than resetting the TPMS on my Vette.

Here is a photo of the extra sensors I have for my 2008 CLS550 .
Also I was told I have to change the outer nut that hold the sensor on the wheel? They are $16 each, just the nut, don't look like there are any seals in it.
Let me know... Thanks guys

Here is a list of what that sensor part number will fit. You will need to replace the HEX nut and gromit (the rubber) for all tire service. $16 per nut is craziness. I can do much better than that in price. Give me a call we can get you taken care of.

I called and they tried to sell me sensors.. ? Titan told me they only have valves for there after market sensors, if this is a mistake email me @ indy1141@gmail.com or reply to this post.
I was going to install the old valves, the rubber looked good on the inside and the outer nuts have no seal in it.
1 more thing, i am using OE sensors i purchased a few moths back, will my car learn the new sensors by just driving ? I have the sensors in my trunk right now (0psi) and they weren't detected by car after driving for 20mins. Dash reads " No TPMS Sensors Dectected".
When i put them in the Wheel will they then read or do i need a diagnostic computer to program ?
Not sure if the sensors need pressure to send signal, with them not instaled in wheels ; car is not comunicating with sensors as of now.
**(these are not my orignal sensors, this is a mercedes sensor from same model car, photo in above posts.)

Your correct, an 06 has a sensor located internally, not the wheels. 2007-up measures pressure, a 2006 measures rotating diameter and when the diameter changes beyond its perimeters it sets off an dash alert.

Tire sensors go to sleep when they are not spinning in a wheel. So just setting them in your trunk will not wake them up to be learned.
