Stoptech rotors G2 painted calipers
Here is a tip. The G2 paint is fantastic but follow the temperature guidelines. I painted too hot in AZ and it didn't level out as nice as I wanted. Will be ok once I decal it and clear coat. I used G2 before on another car in the temperature range and it was perfect.

Did you use a rebuild kit? Mercedes says there isn't one avail. True? Maybe it's not needed for paint as much as it would be for powder coating??? What is G2 and where did you get it. I also want to do mine in red!

I read all about the internet horror stories on taking apart the front calipers. There are two o-ring type seals between the bracket and each caliper(in and out on each side). The large torx bolts that you see on the caliper separate them. I took them off to paint and kept everything clean so reinstalling was fine.
This is not necessary. You can remove the two 18mm bolts from the caliper bracket and spin the entire assembly off the fluid line. Then paint as a unit. If you use G2 just don't do it in 105 Phoenix degrees or you will see brush strokes. Follow the instructions.
I am installing Brembo decals so will clear over them. I painted a test piece of metal with G2 and cleared over with 500 degree ceramic clear. Worked perfectly.
I have a friend down the street that has never used G2 but he has used the Duplicolor spray on 5+ cars. He swears by the spray and says that he has never had a chip. He is a prep freak though so you get the results if you prep well.
I am going to try that the next time but both systems are nice with pros and cons.
My suggestion to you is to loosen the brake fluid line from fronts, remove pads, remove two bracket bolts, spin the entire unit (bracket/caliper inner/caliper outer)off the brake line being very careful not to bang everything around.
Rears are simple. Remove caliper bolts with torx40 and two bracket bolts. Loosen fluid line and spin caliper off.
Clean and reclean all surfaces to be painted. When you think you are done, clean again. Paint with G2 or duplicolor. Pretty simple actually.

Take back what I said about splitting the front calipers. It turned out to be way more hassle than what it was worth. Way more.
If you are going to paint your calipers, just leave them on and prep/tape on the car. If you do remove the fronts just remove the two bracket bolts and spin the entire unit off the brake line.
