2007 CLS550 W/AMG SPORT PACKAGE

MISSING A BOLT/BUSHING? REAR AXLE

Hello, I just got done looking under the rear of my car and noticed what looks to be a missing bolt/bushing. there are two holes at rear/center of rear axle. right side is empty and can see a threaded hole. Does anyone know if this is normal or do I need to get a replacement bolt? Thanks

I have the same issue and I find it hard to believe that this is *normal*? Does anyone have a parts diagram to verify? I have been looking for hours...

How can this be normal?

I believe I have finally tracked down the potentially missing part number.
The bushing part number is 2113511142, and can be seen at this website which indicated TWO are required:

It is attached to the rear suspension crossmember which is part number 2113507508:

The crossmember is part number 1 and the suspect bushing is number 5.

The question remains whether or not TWO or ONE bushing are required?Progress!

I have owned a 2010 CLS550 since 2014.

I am finding the same empty mounting hole on my 2010 CLS550, so I guess that is just like that by design - very strange for a high stress drivetrain location - maybe that is why my diff is whining at only 85k!!!

MB EPC shows normal by design however, cls63 shows 20MM grommet cover part # 0039975586 (35 in diagram) replaced by current 0039981450. Apparently grommet is a multi-purpose part.

Mine looks the same and I THOUGHT a bolt was missing. Apparently not. Can anyone confirm?
