I have a '08 CLS550 non-AMG. I replaced the original steering wheel that had the burlwood trim and it cracked and chipped off. I wanted to replace my steering wheel with an all leather steering wheel and it came with the paddle shifters. It appears that the paddle shifters plug directly into the steering module behind the airbag and should be plug & play but doesn't work. I like the look and always preferred an all leather steering wheel for handling as opposed to the original wood finish.
What needs to be done to get this option of the paddle shifters functional?
i own same model 08’ cls550 W219 and im looking to get paddle shifters installed into my original leather w/ wood trim steering wheel. Did you ever find out more about how to connect them or how to have them installed
