I wanted to post this in hopes someone can steer me in the right direction. I currently own a 2006 CLS55 that was imported from Canada. The cars SBC pump is bad and has gone out on me while driving a couple times.... I have gone through the process of trying to get a MB dealership to apply the sbc recall to my car. I got the run around, where the dealership was telling me to call Mercedes Benz and Mercedes Benz telling me to call NHTSA (National highway traffic safety administration) blah blah blah.... So I submitted a ticket through NHTSA (see attached pics). MB told me my vin number was not included or "on their list" for the recall even though the recall states that a 2006 CLS 55 is covered my 25 year recall.... My mechanic told me "oh they cant do anything for you because it is from Canada..."
My question is, has anyone ran into this problem and maybe they can shed some light on the situation? Or, am I better off just giving up and paying it for the repair myself?
VIN is not in MBUSA Vehicle Master Inquiry (VMI) and therefore, not covered because it’s assigned to MB Canada. Need to contact them to either confirm they match MBUSA extended warranty or if not, consider approving goodwill replacement given safety ramifications.
