New window regulator or cable repair kit?

New window regulator or cable repair kit?
I had a plastic piece, that used to attached to the lower cable on my window regulator, break today.

Was wondering if anyone had experience with these regulator cable repair kits on ebay? Or is replacing the whole assembly recommended?
A new aftermarket regulator is around $150 and the repair kit $35

MB does not offer this part separately, check ebay for regulator replacement. No experience with kit.
