2009 CLS550 Airmatic issue

So, car is at 70k. Absolutely no signs of an air suspension leak. I drove the car earlier today, no issues. All of the sudden while driving in the evening, RED Light- vehicle too low warning. The front drivers side corner is collapsed, and will not raise. All other sides fine. Could this be a line failure, or possibly an electrical connection issue to that one side? I find it hard to believe the air strut would just abruptly leak at that high volume right away. Thank you.

100% can be and likely is the strut itself. I’ve replaced both fronts two years apart and one did exactly that. I went with Arnott and had one replaced for free under warranty a year later. Process is relatively simple if you wrench a bit.

TBH, i am sick of airmatic, so many issues. This is coming from a previous 04 E55 Amg owner. I am strongly considering just having the standard suspension conversion kit put on, and saying goodbye to airmatic.

That’s a very popular opinion and they have full kits at relatively cheap prices. I debated the same but at $350 for an Arnott strut I stuck with it. I’ve changed a lot of standard struts and coilovers over the years too so I get your point.
