2007 CLS550
A few weeks ago I had passenger front lower control arm bushing go out where the airstrut connects. The strut slipped down and the electrical wiring rubbed against the sway bar link ruining the strut. I received an airmatic malfunction warning on dash and check engine light. Fuse 15a on left side of steering wheel blew and airmatic setting lights next to shifter went out.

replaced front strut
replaced rear bags for good measure because one had a very slow leak.
replaced both front lower control arms
repkaced both front thrust arms
replaced 15a fuse

everything seems to be working. Suspension raises when I press button by shifter. Lowers when I turn off.

however now I get a check engine light. P0418 Relay for air pump Open circuit
I cleared and it came back after a drive.

I have a hard time believing this isn’t related to my previous problem but heck maybe. Anyone know the troubleshooting steps or fuses involved in this P0418?

 

Found the problem. Like a dork I put the air pump relay R in the spare location M. I just looked and my relay R is missing. I moved it and check engine light hasn’t come back.

I did this back when I was testing Airmatic relay S and didn’t put it back in the right location.
