Tight Squeeze ?

Went to the local auto show last night. The Mercedes display had a CLS55 up on the pedestal but it was locked up. I thought the back seat accomodations looked a little cramped and was talking to the Mercedes rep present who was a local salesman. He said that he had just had two people cancel their orders after sitting in the rear seat. Short on headroom and almost short on legroom were the complaints. Try before you order would seem to be advisable. Car was beautiful though.

This has been an ongoing question and the answer is...depends on your passengers. I had a boyfriend once that was 6'8" and could never find a car that was comfortable.

Families w/ kids no problem, who cares what the rug rats think. :v

Driving around a few occational clients, scoot the front seats up a bit, it won't hurt too much.

If you consistantly have three, good size, adult passengers, on long rides, then the "S" is more for you. Unless you really want to impress then go Maybach!

i'm 6'1" and have tried the backseat on each of the six occasions i've sat in the car (including two test drives). i find it no more difficult to get in and out of than any other four door sedan. it takes some getting used to, but not much. riding in the back is very nice experience - kinda like being chauffeured.

i admit if i were an inch taller, my head would rest against the top, so i'm inclined to agree with Natalie. Most kids will find having their own "bucket" seat cool. Most adults are under 6'1". The one thing the CLS will not accomodate is five passengers, so if you have regular needs in this area, then this is not the car for you (it is a limited production car, not designed for families hauling loads of kids or adults who regularly need to haul several adults around, like some professionals do).
