Nappa vs. std. Leather & Ordering
When using the 'Build Your Own' on mbusa.com, it shows that there's no additional cost for Nappa leather, but they hit you with an $1100 special order charge. Does anyone, particularly someone who has taken delivery of a car w/Nappa leather, have any idea what the true cost is? Thanks.

just received my white, nappa cashmere last week. sticker charge was $950 - and i would have paid $1100 for it. IMO it enhances the interior feel considerably. even my teenage boys think its cool (my "coolness" barometer).

No Nappa...car finished production 2/23 and will catch the 3/10 boat for a mid-April arrival. I'm re-thinking giving up this car and getting Nappa leather, High-Gloss Laurel wood instead of the Matte, and adding heated seats. It'd delay arrival by a couple of months, but if I'm paying this kind of money, I might as well get what I want. Plus I love my 540i and don't mind continuing to drive it. Hmmmm...

don't know how much you need heated seats in Dallas, but they are very pleasant here in Cincinnati - the Nappa leather is terrific and i believe is the same as in the 55.

Great call on putting in a new order - you won't be dissapointed I promise.
As for the seats, heated seats I guess depends on where you are - my fiance has that a prerequisite for any car I get...LOL...in fact she has waited 3 months for her new BMW just becuase she couldn't find a white on tan in So Cal with heated seats...LOL...go figure. Tell ya this much, the heated steering wheel SUCKS on my E500 - it was a frivolous option to begin with and it heats great for about 10 seconds - then it cycles on and off every few minutes while my hands go numb. Never get this option...LOL
