DIY - V1 clean easy install for 218
Valentine 1 has a new product called the Savvy that makes it really easy to do a clean install for your V1 and beats the hell out of the cord hanging down in your face.
It gets its power from the diagnostic port under the steering wheel and gives you two ports...1 for the main and 1 for the concealment unit. I was able to place the main high and to the left of the rearview and found a clean wire run back down to the ports without taking anything apart. Even the cord they supplied was the perfect length.
ALso - you don't have to use the concealment unit but if you do the main goes dark which I love.
Check out the pictures...I know there are much cooler ways to hide the V1 (mirrors, headrest, whatever) but the savvy was $70 and I did it myself...
Still needs a little cleaning up but thought I'd share.

Looks great! I plan on installing my Escort 9500ci and then interfacing with one of these http://midcityengineering.com/radar-...ort-interfaces which looks like the ultimate setup! I have heard very good things about these guys.
They also have a remote start for our vehicles which sound like a great idea for hot summers

Also - how much are they looking for for the remote start?

Take pictures! Love to see how it turned out. I have a new toy coming today that also uses the OBD port so I have to get a splitter. Will post about it later once I install it. This is a cool one...

I didn't use a BOB, checked it out today in Eco mode with the start/stop and there wasn't any issue. I don't have the remote unit, may have to pick one up. Can't wait to see what else you have coming for the OBD, some kind of real-time info transmission to the iPhone?

Get ready to spend another $100 bucks finding the right application. I got Harry's Lap Timer and Rev2.
Haven't played around with it too much so I don't have feedback but yes....Rev2 will measure boost.
...and I had to some rewiring too....but that was fun...

Not much really. I just had to work with the new splitter and stuff. All under the wheel...no rerouting or anything.
I would also recommend getting a mount for it. I got one that either hooks into a vent or has a suction cup for the windshield which I like for video.
Never thought I say this but the mount its pretty damn convenient and SIRI works way better than voice command for most stuff.
