Wanted to share this info with everyone the new M157 engines has a better intercooler system, the difference is the older system shares the water with the radiator, so both engine and intercooler can be fed by the same top up water tank, this effects the water temperature since the water pump can suck hot water from the tank via the Y pipe it shares with the radiator
The new system is that a separate top up tank is fitted for the intercooler right on top of the engine just below the computer, and the Y pipe is cancelled giving the intercooler better cooling since it doesn't have to share the radiator water! Unfortunately the parts are not available yet but once they are 20C less water temperature will be healthy for our cars.

That's cool when the parts are available to split the system you will benefit more from Renntech heat exchanger

I havent really understood your post.

Did you want to say that the M157 engine has a better intercooling system than the M113k engine because is doesn't share the fluid with the engine cooling system, like on the V12 TT engine ?

What do you mean by "Older sytem" ?? the 55K Intercooling system ?

Why do you say that parts are not available ? Aren't you talking about the stock M157 intercooling system ??

No those are OEM parts that comes in newer version M157 engines it's a small upgrades over our engines, it is a simple upgrade for efficient cooling solution, as for fuel cooling I don't think you really need it the engine is a direct injection, also oil cooler why? I never have seen the oil get to high temperatures it's a waste of money with no performance benefit, I would suggest you split the intercooler system just like I did on OEM parts first, and it would cost less than what you want to do, actually it reduced the air intake temperature by about 15 degrees with my existing GAD-Motors intercooling setup

I think its better that you contact them and they might get you the parts and at the same time give you the instructions of fitting them there are some modifications that you will need to know for doing this upgrade. Its an email away here is there email you can contact them and get all that you need for this upgrade info@gad-motors.de all the best.

Maybe it would depend on your dealer or on your tuner it won't hurt to walk in to your dealer and ask them for this upgrade.

Would anyone happen to know if this upgrade is for all M157 motors or just the earlier 2012 ones?

Intercooler Diagram
I managed to find the diagrams for both non-split system and split system from 2014 s63 AMG. I even managed to get all the parts, but our local MB dealer doesn't want to do the job since they are afraid that they will damage something. They don't take any responsibility on upgrades.

I finally did the upgrade according to the diagrams that I posted above. On the top of splitting the system I also upgraded the inter-cooler pump. I managed to find out from the other threats that Renntech is using Pierburg CWA100.2 pump, therefore I got the pump for much lower price.

Alternatively you can also order the pump from your local MB dealer with the following part number: Mercedes SLS cooling pump Part number: A 000 500 04 86 which costs around 400USD.

Connection of wires: Zero: Ground, 3 and four: Positive pole (+)
