My dealer called today. My Edition 1 has been held at the port in LA for over a week. They are waiting for a new software download. He said the car should be released on May 8. I was wondering what was taking so long. Has anyone else heard about this?

Yes, there is a glitch in the software on US spec cars. Myself along with a handful of guys that got the first cars delivered had issues with our cars completely shutting down. I was the second car to get the updated patch software. I have been running the new software since last Friday and put about 350 miles on it with no issues.

Same here. Dealer just said my Ed 1 was sitting at the VPC and should be released the 9th but he also said they've given him a different date every time he calls
Read this thread on Tuesday and thought "no way this will happen to my car!" Well, no such luck! I picked up my Edition 1 on Wednesday afternoon and drove it for about 50 miles before shutting it down. After dinner I went out to "learn" about the car, tried to start it but the start button and the keyless go were dead. Had all sorts of error messages flashing - ESP, brake, blind spot warning, etc. Fortunately I had read about the ignition being in the center console and got it started. Shut it down again and after about 15 minutes everything cleared up and the car drove fine. Regardless, I emailed this thread to the dealer and they picked it up Thursday and downloaded new software. Well, after about 150 more miles the engine light came on this afternoon. Went to the dealer, plugged it in, and was told it's related to fuel or emissions. I have not refueled the car. They sent the data to MB engineers and will let me know what they find out.
Obviously this is very disappointing. My family has owned plenty of AMG Benzes including an SLS vert and have never had ANY issues. MB really doesn't have the **** together on this one. I have an R8 Spyder and was considering a Turbo S as a daily driver but figured I'd try something different and after about 250 I was really starting to love the GTS. My dealer is great and I have an excellent relationship with them but I told them if it needs to go in for a 3rd time it's staying with them and never coming back home!

Are you a member on the AMG Private Lounge? There is a thread over there, I would report your problem there as well. You are the 6th person that has had an issue in about a week and a half.

MB World is a great forum, lots of traffic and threads,:-)I spend more time here than there. However the Private Lounge is owned and run by AMG.
