AMG GTS Spoiler

Got mine from here, I am in the tech space and get things manufactured in China so I knew of this company that makes parts for a lot of the aftermarket companies, way cheaper than buying from the company that bought it from them. It only took 10 days to arrive.

I was going to post a group buy thread actually, for the hood vents, just hadn't gotten around to clearing it with the mods yet.

I was so happy to get it and put it on, when I got to the brake light i saw that I had to do some wire diagram research, since we have a brake light in the rear window, feasibly we should be able to just tap that light and hopefully it works without throwing a code. If anyone has any info on this it would be appreciated, but since i have tons of time on my hands lol I may go do a check today.

WING is now for sale $500 AUD
I had the rear light spoiler covered and painted. Purchased from JSK Racing $570 USD. The wing is installed onto the existing wing bracket.
Used the Ronac plug to disarm the wing
took about 1 hour to install

I just bought a 2018 Roadster GT C - will this fit? The brake lite is located at the spoiler so that isnt an issue - was more concerned about it only fitting 2015 to 2018 and unclear about the changes between 2018 and beyond in the spoiler fit.

If you do it, please post a pic. I kinda wanna see how it looks on a roadster as I was contemplating it myself.

If the shape of the base is the same it could work, I saw somewhere that the Darwin Pro did not work with the GTC Roadster but did not say why. You could remove your current wing and compare it to the standard one for the GT/GTS, if it is the same then it should work, worst case you order it and it does not fit, you can for sure sell it asap on this forum. Also note the new AMG GTR Roadster has a Wing.

Interesting timing for posting that. I just finished making the electronic spoiler delete. It uses OEM MB plugs and takes 2 mins to install. No splicing or damaging your oem hardware or harness. It's completely reversible and avoids all error codes that occur when you switch to a fixed wing setup.

Hello, I would like to order from JSK and it would be great if you could put me in touch. I have already referenced you and they are asking for your name or email. Thank you for the help I just picked this up recently

Spoiler intermittent problems
I don't mind the active spoiler. Now I am getting intermittent problems. 2016 AMG GTS. The two codes that come up. Limit 125 mph etc. Where can I get those little switches that may be causing the intermittent problems that you mentioned.? Thank you =rt7085;7817349]Here is a little video that explains how the rear wing mechatronics work.
And a few more detail pictures of what I was talking about:
The location of the up down limit switches on the motor assembly. The down switch is the right one in the picture and when depressed it is conducting.
Attachment 440234
A close up of one of down switch (conducting when the wing is down)
Attachment 440235
And the up switch (conducting when the wing is up)
Attachment 440236
And a close up of the connectors. The up switch pin is shorting to GND when up and open (e.g. NOT conducting) when the wing is down. The other middle pin does the opposite.
Attachment 440237
Frankly this is a really simple but error prone design. Over time these switches will become intermittent (wear) and the wing mechanism is probably going to throw errors. Since the switches are part of the motor mechanism, MB will replace the whole thing for big buck while all you have to do is replace the switches. Just beware.
I will follow up with a little cheater circuit that truly allows you to remove the whole active wing without recoding (2 hrs. of work, $240 when the dealer agrees to do it). They will even suggest to replace the ECU in the mirror patch for $300 bucks such that you don't have the wing switch any longer. Of course, this is silly and there is no reason other than aesthetics.[/QUOTE]
