Oil Change

Has anyone figured out how to drain the oil and change the filter without creating a huge mess. Is there a clever hint anyone can share?

Does the factory procedure require the turbo oil lines and oil cooler be drained?

It is called a "Topsider" vacuum pump. It is like 60 bucks on Amazon.
It goes in the dipstick tube and will suck your bad oil into a convenient gas type can. I used mine to suck inside the filter housing too, as it looked like a few ounces were waiting to go into the oil pump.

I have my local service garage change my oil and filters on both my mercedes and porsches. I supply the filters and oil and crush washers and they charge me about $15.00. About $40 dollars for 8 quarts of mobile 1,$10 for a filter and $1 for the washers that I supply. That comes to about $66 dollars. Thats a good savings from the $250 the dealer charges.

Star Tek WIS

Can anyone provide the Star Tek WIS procedure for a C190 GTS oil change? Does it require draining the turbo lines and oil cooler?

There is some oil left in the engine and oil lines to and from the turbo and oil cooler. You can attempt to clear these lines but the effort is not worth it. Just add oil and go.

Anyone have any help here? Does anyone have access to the WIS procedure for this vehicle?
