Anyone wrap their GTS?

Just took off the satin aluminum silver wrap...going to start on a matte gold chrome project with a custom print and leave it on for a month for marketing then going to restyle to stealth black. My grills were dipped gloss black previously also and personally I think it looks much better and more aggressive that way. Will keep you guys updated on the progress and results. Anyone else into wrapping their cars?

Matte gold GTS? There's a few of those in my neighbourhood.

What exactly do you mean by dipped grilles?

Dipped usually refers to Plasti-Dipped

My new 2017 GT-S along with my 2015 CLS 63S which is matte great factory paint( forget the fancy name of the color) along with my opinion on the matter.

Plasti-Dip on a GT-S? That's like putting ketchup on a Prime Porterhouse Steak...lol.

Satin Black Wrap + Blacked-out grill, center caps, emblems + CF option = I like her this way! Artic White underneath.

Old thread---Have had great success with SunTek, but XPEL makes great product as well. It's amazing how far wrap technology has come in the last five years.

A ‘wrap’ generally means changing the underlying colour of the car. It is done with a much thinner product than a true PPF; (Paint Protection Film), that is used to protect, but not change (normally) the colour. If I remember the typical wrap is about 2 mil in thickness whereas Suntek PPF is around 6 mil and Xpel is around 8 mil. So a wrap is easier to apply, cheaper but doesn’t offer the protection from damage that a PPF does.

I think wraps are around $2-3K whereas a full body PPF is around $5-8K depending on location, and skill/reputation of the installer.

Not a GTS but I just had my C63 wrapped by Protective Film Solutions. It should be finished and home later today. I was originally going to do full PPF but then I decided that if I wanted to do a color change then now is the time. I had a lot of fun with the whole process. I looked through the 3M and Avery Dennison catalogs, looked up photos of cars that were wrapped in the colors I was interested in, tried to visualize it on my own car to see if it would "work", etc. Besides the color change we also blacked out the roof, repainted the brake calipers, tinted the windows, debadged the rear, blacked out the front grill, added Edition 1 side stripes in black, blacked out the front/rear stars, swapped for black "V8 Biturbo" badges, and switched the rear trunk spoiler to Edition 1 style. All of this for slightly less than the price of a full body PPF wrap.

If I decide I'm not happy with the color I can switch to something else or go back to stock. The other changes I made will look good with any color scheme so they only needed to be done once.
