I've done some drag racing over the years. I would use S+. I would not manually shift. These trans shift much faster and more accurately than we can.

I hear there is a small increase in Hp in race.
Also race start works well.

Race mode and Sport + seem to have the same shift points so either one will perform the same on upshifts. mode and let the computer auto shift for you. if you are not familiar with your car also use the race start feature, in most cases it will launch the car better than you but once you know the car and learn how it launches on different pavements you should be able to launch it a little better than race start mode.
