GTS is an engineering marvel! 3 FUEL SOURCES!

It consumes 3 types of fuel:

E91 GAS-0-LINE
Mobil1 Oil
COOLANT

IS this where all the POWER comes from? As far as I know American cars are still burning just gasoline. The Germans are playing chess while the corvette plays checkers.

Whenever I take my car in for a regular oil and coolant fill up they say "these are highly sophisticated machines".

Corvette Z06 : costs 1/2 as much and will EAT YOUR GTS FOR ****ING LUNCH on the track. Also its ONLY burns gasoline. So pray tell, who is more SOPHISTICATED?

650hp vs 503 on a roll race and u expect a different result lol.
If u not happy with your car, sell it or call mb USA or go to different dealer.
Just got mine and will report any issues.
So far I am super impressed.

No surprise there. The current Z06 has 650HP/650TQ. You should have went from a dig as the Vette has trouble launching over the GTS.

I had an 02 Lingenfelter Z with 830HP/855TQ. Great ride but no traction below 70 under full throttle.

are you serious?! Z06 does 0 to 60 in 2.95. It'll **** on a GTS.

best of all ...erm I mean worst of all, it only uses a single fuel source.

I understand that you had your fair share of problems with both your car and your dealership. I can totally sympathize with that, as I had gone through my own share of lemons and bad dealership experiences.

Having said that the Z06 and Z51 are not perfect in the reliability department. The Z51 had a number of blown motors, I think Car and Driver alone encountered two? The Z06 of course has the overheating problem that is finally being admitted by GM and they are in fact working on a redesign of the supercharger. The C6 Z06 of course has this oil starvation problem and the list goes on and on.

Having said that, I will likely pick up a 2017 Camaro SS 1LE for the track. Hopefully that will work out well for me.

I'm talking about the average driver not magazine test results. Most driver's abilities fall well short of their car's performance potential.

How about Aston? Cost double than GTS, but SLOWER too ....

Do I like the GTS? Yes....but would I take a Vanquish over GTS? No brainer...

Don't get me wrong, I agree the Z06 (or a Slyline GTR ) is cheap for HP, but in the same time, the regular Vette cost half to the Z06, and for 99.6% population, they are the same.

your hate for MB / GTS... sell it on

cause it's getting really old... sad really (which is just a euphemism for pathetic).

I don't think anyone is doubting a z06 would open a can on most cars let alone a GTS. I'll give respect where respect's due and the z06 is one hell of a machine. Actually thought about picking one up.

I guess it is true. Hell hath no fury like a woman scorn.

I always love the Vette too, (well, somehow, chicks here love it, but not Bimmer or MB or Porsche .... ) but every time I text drive one, I don't want it anymore, (Z06 or not) I guess once get used to the Europe and Lexus level of refinement, hard to live with the domestic...

But to be fair, I hvnt tried the new Z06 ....

The Z06 was on my list for my new daily driver.
Here are the factors that led me to buy a GT:
-The documented platform issues of engines failures and overheating. This is supposed to be Chevy's track car hero. I do not want to be stuck with GM denying a warranty claim.
-The underwhelming interior (even though a huge step above the previous generation). I actually splurged and got the upgraded MB alcantara interior. You drive and spend time in your car not outside looking at it.
-Looks is subjective but the vette has too many adds on that do not flow well.
-The quality of service and attention on a $100K car at a Chevy dealership.
-The Z06 looks like its smaller brother and it is everywhere. No exclusivity at all.
Just get rid of the car and move on. Life is too short

In al fairness the GT-S makes closer to 560 hp, AMG is really sandbagging their HP figures for whatever reason. My stock baseline dyno pulls proved that theory and lots of other guys have come up with similar baseline numbers as mine. If you need further proof watch this video, the "503"hp GT-S spanks cars with 100 more hp. In this race the Aston which is rated at 565 gets whipped, the 526hp Mustang gets spanked, the 575hp Jag gets whooped. The GT-S is making 560-570 crank hp all day.

Somehow....most of those 4L turbo is underrated... From the Audi, the "525"hp version..believe to hv 570-580 hp ..

I guess the manufacture can sell their "performance" edition for more!

By the way, the Aston is slowest... But prettiest, sexiest .. 😍😍

The Audi's super sophisticated AWD system is a big help in a drag race from a dig. If you did a roll race between the Audi and the GT-S the GT-S would win, the trap speeds in this race say so.

GTS & Z06 are both amazing in their own way. Z06 is ridiculously fast while the GTS is much more comfortable to drive as a daily. I couldn't decide so i got both
