I bought a 2017 Porsche Carrera 4S Coupe and after driving it I question my GTs. The steering is much more precise. The turbo lag is much less. It makes my GTs seem less than I thought. The GTs is absolutely gorgeous, but from a driving standpoint I am not sure anymore. These are just my observations driving both side by side.

hi
I read your previous posts, there seems to be a very wide delta between the edition 1 gt s and the 2016 amg gt s, sorry u are having a negative experience with your amg gt s and good luck going forward

The new Porsche 911.2 are very well refined compared to the older models. But the GTs is definitely a stand out... I'm not sure if you have the 2015 but the new 2016/17 are more refined.

Thanks for posting pics. If I had to buy a gt3, yours would be in my garage as well. That color is stunning and the grey wheels complement it very well. Congrats and I am
Sure it will put a smile on your face.
The only item I am not sure about is the yellow seat belts but that would be an easy swap.
Please share your feedback once u've driven it a bit and I can only imagine it will be extremely positive.
The only issue I had on my end was that the ride was not as compliant as the GT-S but it is in the DNA of the GT3 and I think the GT-R will be the same.

We have a few of the same cars based on your signature and some similar iterations as well. I have to say after reading up and seeing what the 991.2 C4s and C2s are doing that I need to drive one. I have seen some incredible times in both track tests and even straight line 1/2 mile runs (almost 150 mph). Very impressive for a "420 hp" car...

Since the subject was brought up, what is the current depreciation on a GTS and GTS E1 in your geographic areas?

Also, it appears the dealers taking trades are using the major auction house prices at the time of trade in or sale to base their trade price on.

For some of us it's time to start the traditional wrestling match long before the GTR's are starting to be delivered.

In my experience its good to know how the dealer comes up with the "Remaining Balance Owed or Financed before the excitement of seeing your new car starts.

The ED1s were 144k MSRP. My dealer was asking 130k for a CPO'd 1,700mi one which I got for 124k. Hopefully that helps.

Assume about 12% in the car from MSRP to triple net of invoice, mine was a 144k car so true net invoice was about 127k.... so a dealer would be hard pressed to give anything close to this value on a used trade in where the car can not be leased- not to mention its used with miles and might need recon etc.

Here are some auction numbers on the GTS (16s) that have been out for quite some time:

Yeah I couldn't believe the results in MTs worlds greatest drag race. 11.5 at 120.5. That's pretty fast for a Carrera !

Yeah those are pretty fast times for any car let alone a "not real" TT 911?

On another note I've been wondering why the GTS engine is not tuned with the same amount of torque as the C 63S. That doesn't make sense to me as the AMG GTS is a higher on the MB pecking order. You would think it would have the 500+ft/lb of torque that the C63s has and not 479. Anyone with any ideas why the GTS is lower?

I think its all in the software and the engineers' tolerance for tq and the DCT tranny vs the MCT tranny. But this is all supposition.

Yeah but 30ft pounds. ???!!

What was interesting to me is that the GTR and we got bumped up to I believe 518ft which was minuscule and car had larger turbos.

Sand bagging for the Black...

who know, but its a paper number as dynos show the real power. Do have a c63s vs gts dyno chart by chance?

And that's why I bought a 16', lol. Gt's have had their issues also, oil burning, gas smells, etc., typical for first or second year of a brand new car/engine production. They all have their ups and downs. I still love my M157 engine in my e63s though, imagine that engine in a GTs.

good reply but 70 % of porsches are still on the road. AMG I would say not. Porsche treated owners of 14 and 15 GT3s fairly and engines have been stellar....better car overall and I would take a Porsche GTS over a AMG any model for the track...and have it run and run and run....not go kerplunk....

Good reply? This was an epic mechanical failure...

70% of what are still on what road?

Porsche reliable ? 2016 Owners still don't know if their cams are DLC coated. They are all just sitting on a warranty hoping for the best .....what happens when Warranty runs out ? More like a depth charge

Guess I just prefer Porsches to AMG Benzes and you are the AMG fanatic.......fair enough.....I have had two really bad overall experiences with AMGs and 4 great experiences with Porsche (and Toyota products)..... so that is my reference....all good....
