Tuned AMG GT S Trounces Modified Nissan GT-R on Runway Race

The more I look at the GTR's the less I like the look of them, but they are fast cars.
It's unlikely that a GTS outruns a modded GTR like this, tuned or not... I assume that car had an issue.

I can see this happening-- power to weight ratio in the favor of the GTS and we know tuned GTS's are trapping high 120's. Of course a "real" modded GTR is one to be reckoned with but these appear to be ECU only modded cars. The GTS is underrated as we all know.

ummmm, the GTR has had just minor revisions since 2007.
also, for the price of a GTS, you can make a GTR smoke that Benz anyday.
should e comparing a 2007 GTR with a 2007 benz anything at the same PRICE. the GTR would do laps on any benz at the same price.

Benz will never compete with a GTR in a mod vs mod world--- its just not part of the model or the ownership desire (to the likes of Alpha levels or whatever). But Ive owned both (so I have experience) and I know which car I'd rather drive on a daily basis or even in part.
The GTR was released in 2008 stateside(latter part) as a 2009 model. The HP in the car has evolved from a stock/oem standpoint closer to 18% in the upward (480 to 565 in the standard models). I wonder what is next on tap for the GTR as its becoming a bit long in the tooth.

It's definitely in its death throes in 2017.

LOL I got mine for 73k (or what I call triple net of cost) and sold it two years later for 83k because it was hot. Its just not a very engaging car and now dealers cant give them away.
