So unfortunately I hit some road debris that caused some minor damage to the top of my front lip and bumped. I've been contemplating swapping out the whole bumper for the new 2018s.
I don't think the GT gained any width up front so it should be a simple fit but if someone could confirm that would be great.
Also, looking at the new GTR front... anyone know if there was any width added there? I know the rear quarters flare out more but not sure about the front. Thanks in advance!

Yes 1.8" or 49mm increase on front fenders. 2.2" in rear.
Hey Sony OT can you ping me on who you used for wheels and offset? Ty

Also curious if the new 2018 bumper will fit 2016 - even if the track is wider it is still possible that the bumper would fit hope someone can verify or an aftermarket offering can be made. I remember the Aston Martin DBS front would not fit the DB9 because the fenders were wider.

I would presume that if the fenders on the 2018 GTS model are the same part number as on the 2017 model then that would mean the 2018 bumper will fit on the 2017 body?

When the iconic benchmark 300SL Gullwing has the same grill as the 17 GTS it is hard to understand why Mercedes went with the vertical lined grill on the 2018. You would think they could have stuck with the 300SL style single slat and maybe made it a bit more aggressive than the 2017.

they want an AMG signature and to be distinct from other MB.

The 17GTS grill has been standard fare on many MB's, not just the 300SL. It looks great but it's nothing special from a design perspective.
The 2018 is just as classic as its design came from the Gullwings predecessor, the Panamericana. In many ways it's a more exclusive grill design and IMO great looking if not better.
Just looked at both standing next to each other at the dealer.
That said, MB is making these stupid decisions; first they create exclusivity and then almost instantly start slapping on the same design on low-end models, destroying that exclusivity (GLC63).
I think I would like the panamericana grill with vertical bars more if they invert the shape of the grill, looks like they might have one like that with the S63 coupe/cabriolet facelift for 2019 ......

I think the panamericana grill will be for AMG models only ? They might even put it on the C class AMGs But please not on the 43s and the CLA

It more closely matches the inverted grill of the original Panamerica:
However, I agree it is another reason why I'm not keen myself. The "incorrect" orientation in the GLC actually looks better (IMO)

Indeed it is ... it is its ugly predecessor and constructed before the designers of the day realised their huge error
The GTR works quite well with the new grill and, whilst I don't love it it appeared to differentiate it. I don't agree about the GTC despite it sharing some of the design choices with the GTR it just doesn't work as well (IMHO) and I too have seen both cars at the same time. I don't hate the GTC, I'm just not a fan.
This situation reminds me of the recent facelift on the F-Type. They removed its fangs! A brilliant design made somewhat ordinary... because they had to do something to make existing owners think they are driving an old car. LOL.

I was at the dealer today to check out the front grill in person on a 2018. Besides the fact that they are asking a $36K markup for the GT roadster (not even GTS) I have to honestly say IMHO it does look better in person. I think with this front it looks a lot like the GTR especially if you get the rear bumper off a 2018 GTC. The salesperson (for what it's worth) stated that the bumpers are interchangeable as the sheetmetal is the same and from seeing it in person I think he is right.
