2018 vs 2017 GTS Bumper Interchange Question Resolved!

So I went to the Mercedes dealer to try and resolve this burning question on this forum!

Looks like the part number for both the 2017 and 2018 front fenders are THE SAME (Part No 1908800106) which would mean that the bumper on the 2018 (Part No 19088535019999) would fit the 2017 and earlier models.

The other good news is that the dealer list price for the 2018 bumper is only $952 but the new grille costs around $1500 (assuming you can reuse the Mercedes emblem which is otherwise $333).

The new bumper is still not available for order since all bumpers are slated for production vehicles but should be soon. I am sure your local body shop can get these parts for less than the dealer. Also, I checked online and this 2018 bumper can be found for only $584

Assuming a similar discount for the grille pieces, it would make this job not that expensive.

Nice research! What about the hood, are they the same? What's the part no for the new grille?

I didn't check the hood part number but I doubt they would redesign the hood when they didn't touch the fenders. For the grille parts the dealer said you need 4 different parts including the center huge emblem - I didn't take the part number down was more curious about the fenders being the same.
Also, I thought that instead of re-painting the new bumper you can also wrap the entire car with a new color and avoid paint especially if you will be changing the rear bumper which looks like it is interchangeable also.

Thank you. I prefer the original rear bumper better because imo the original looks much cleaner. The air vents of the new rear bumper (GTR) looks like an after-thought

I think they designed those vents to give the visual of a wider car.
