Hi all!
super quick intro, I was on the market for a new GTS, I had it all configured (grey paint because the yellow extra $ sounds crazy to me, alcantara interior, and all the goodies). Then I was told it would take 4/5 months to get it here. And that was fine, I was not in a rush.
Then suddenly I found this 2016 GTS, with exactly every option I wanted plus the expensive paint and carbon ceramic brakes with just 950 miles. So that sounded really good to me and I couldn't let the opportunity pass.
So here we are...
The only thing I don't like are the black wheels, I'm going to try to swap them for the multispoke titanium color or try to get a set on ebay.
Solarbeam yellow is a fantastic paint especially seen in person.
I would have picked it too if not for the extraordinary high premium they want. Congratulations !!
As Rod Stewart would say, "some guys have all the luck..." hahaha! I vote for bright silver wheels too, let that gts POP!
Congratulations, looks fantabulous!!!

IMHO - Looks awesome with the black wheels
Congratulations on the GT S - it looks awesome and you'll have a blast driving it. Also, be prepared to get questions and a ton of high-fives and "hey, nice car" remarks at every intersection and gas station.
I hadn't been a black wheels fan until I saw them on the GTR when it was introduced. I really like the way the black wheels on your car coordinate with all of the other black bits on the car e.g., diffuser, side strake, etc. And the shiny portion of the rim at the tire is a cool highlight.
Thanks guys.
My car didn't come with the manual, and I know I can access the PDF version online but it's hard to read. So I have a few questions.
Without having to press the key, is there a way to open the trunk lid from the outside if the car is unlocked?
The launch control does not work, when pulling both paddle shifters to try to enable it the system says, launch mode not possible check manual. I must be doing something wrong.
Has anyone added some sort of clear bra to the matte portion of the center console to avoid scratches? I feel this part will get marks and dents within a couple months.

While at rear of car with key in pocket kick underneath bumper and it will pop trunk.
On launch control steering wheel has to be straight and hard on brakes, and operating temp has to be up.
I didn't order a sunroof. Will it be dark inside the cabin without it.?
The glassroof gives the impression that the cabin is bigger and I personally found it a must-have BUT ... when inside a GTR, I didn't miss it at all. You'll be fine

Additional Info Re Manuals Not In Pre-Owned GT S.
This is a followup to an earlier adhisivo's question about manuals. There is another thread on this topic ("No Manuals with the car?") with the last post on around June 23. When I turned in my GT S, I provided all the manuals. They were contained in a leatherette case (typical of other cars - about 4x5 inches) and were highly detailed. Shortly before I traded in my GT S, I noticed that there was a small parcel net on the wall behind the seat. I had moved the seat forward to look for something dropped beneath it. The size was perfect for the case containing the manuals. You might check there or go back to the dealer to see if they'd consider calling their new customer to request the manuals if available.
The older thread indicates that Mercedes might have replaced the manual completely or in part with an electronic version around September 2016. Mine was an Edition 1 so it was built several months before that.
I have always found the manual built into the "infotainment system" to be helpful although the passenger can't operate it if the car is moving. Maybe voice control works. Sorry for the long message. Hope it prompts some thoughts for adhisivo and others looking for manuals.

That thread was mine. It turned out that the previous owner did have some of the manuals and sent them on to the dealer and then to me. The manuals are currently available as a set from Mercedes, not a huge sum, £40? roughly from memory with the folder, CD etc.
I've had two dealers swear blind the manuals now don't come as standard and have to be ordered in although most of them do this anyway with the high end cars so most people think they are supplied by default.
