Not sure if the subject has been posted yet . When I want to ruin that beautiful grill was wondering if anyone has a link if there's any device that has to be attached to have the plate on the right side like in this picture. If There's anything I need to purchase to attach it
There are license plate frames made that attach via a front tow hook insertion point; they simply screw in. This would be a great option for the GT R as long as it has one; and surely it does?
The tow hook hole is in the upper right corner of the front grill. One has to remove a plastic cover. I picked up a tow hook plate from Amazon so I can pass a safety check this week. As with my other sports cars, I store it in the trunk in case I get pulled over and will say I removed the plate for a car show and forgot to put it back.
This is from the GT roadster manual. The towing hook attachment is behind a cover on the grill. From an aesthetic point of view, this is higher up than usual so I would look for a frame that allows you to adjust the height of the plate. I personally think that putting a plate that high up on the grill is a worse option than right under the star.
Any front plate looks terrible with the GTS front grill. I refuse to drill holes and double sided 3M tape is a poor solution and unlikely to be stable. The tow hook solution is a temporary fix to pass the safety check. There are 3 rows to adjust the height of the plate and so it doesn't interfere with the front parking sensors.

AH HA! perfect.
Previously, I just said "hey! whaddya mean there's no front plate? who stole my front plate??"
MB supplied me with the Plastic license Plate bracket (as shown on this picture you attached) for my GTS Edition 1
it looks like a "wart on a super model" in my opinion. Our Canadian Plates are quite wide compared to the European Plates, so fitting a front plate has its challenges (Unless you want to accept the "wart") ..........my preference is to drive with no front plate.....I was pulled over twice in 2 years for the infraction (first time got a warning) ....2nd time a ticket for $110. The penalty in Ontario is $110 per occurrence....... which I will gladly pay rather than having to drill holes and place that cumbersome bracket below the headlight.

Reason: darn typing mistake (fat fingers)
good to see GTRs are starting to get delivered to owners. Congratulations to you mate. I'd just forget about the front plate. The design leaves no place for a license plate.
I agree it's very rare to get pulled over for something like that . But is there another device that needs to be purchased is there a link or we get this from Mercedes whatever attaches to the plate and the front hook?
I have never seen any attachments that does not make any car look worse than having the front plate in the middle under the grille. I just go without the front plate and pay the fine if they give me a ticket.

I agree with this. Symmetry is important. I don't wear a front plate on mine. Where I live it is required but cops mostly seem to ignore as long as your car looks exotic enough to them. If I do put on the front plate I always just use the supplied plastic mounting piece because in the middle is always better than off to the side.

Does the front mount that comes with the car require holes to be drilled or is there already an attachment point from the factory?
I'm asking because I need to know if I should tell the dealer to NOT mount the front plate attachment when the car arrives. I don't want holes drilled.

i have no idea. I have no plans to mount mine. I don't daily drive the car. Ive never been pulled over for the plate. My dealer knows my likes/ dislikes and wouldn't have dared to drill into my car. I won't even let them wash my cars.
i think you'll be ok. I cannot recall ever seeing a front plate mount on one for sale. I mean why would they? It takes weeks for the plate to come in.

I dunno. Some dealers do stupid things. Like attach the front plate mount because it's required by the state and they think they're doing you a favor or something lol.

true enough. Just tell them first chance you get. You haven't really bought the car until you sign and leave with it.
