We’ll have to compare notes after Monday.
By the way: All US owners need to ask them to activate the US version of the Track Pace App option 255 I think.
I doubt if they are ready to do it but at least they may provide an official availability date.
Also ask for current status of the US cooler protector screens Part no. is A0995030400 and should have been available at the end of June 2018 free including installation for GTR AND GTC Owners.
Best regards
Jerry

I will ask about the App update.
Benz told them the protection won’t fit GTRs with carbon fiber exterior upgrade, which we don’t understand. They are investigating, I will give them the part numbers.

FWIW: I just checked and the Apple App Store still doesn’t have the US module available for down load.
We’ll both give them a little nudge to get things moving.

OK I have my GTR back from the dealer.
Everything is Ok BUT there is a slight wear on the right front tire inside tread.
The RIGHT FRONT tire groove depth in 32nds is (inside to outside) 3.4, 4.9, 5.0.
The LEFT FRONT tire groove depth in 32nds is (inside to outside) 5.0, 6.1, 5.7
I run the tires at 31lbs COLD.
They say keep running it but expect to get a new one in another 5k miles. The cause is attributed to factory set negative camber.
COOLER SCREENS: Still no US information. So they took it upon themselves to order the screens from Germany. ETA - Who knows.
I confirmed they are fee to GTR owners including installation.
TRACK PACE APP (option 255): Nobody in the US knows anything about the US version........if it exists, when it will be released..etc.
Best regards.

Negative camber is what these cars come from set from the factory and is what you actually want for handling. My fronts are at -2.2 camber both sides and are showing no signs of aberrant wear across the tread. Hence I strongly think that the ‘Toe’ is set incorrectly on that one corner of your car. It needs to be checked and adjusted. After all the wear on your other front tyre is even.
Thanks for checkjng on the screens screens and Track App. Btw all of the GTRs at the AMG Academy have the cooler screens installed but they’re the ugly ‘silver’ coloured ones.

COOLANT SCREENS- If you saw the black ones on the G63s I posted, that’s what I am hoping shows up. We’ll see. So stay tuned.
Meanwhile, I am hoping all of us US GTR customers will add these issues to their Service Tickets in the Customer Request area. We MAY be able to get some additional information or movement.
Best Regards

I believe the ADA cars are not using an actual part from MB. I spoke to a tech on site and was told that when there is a need for bumper cover to be removed on their GTRs, they fit this mesh as an added protection. It seems like a wire screen from hardware store that is cut to size and placed in the bumper and not like an OE part. The silver is not pretty but blends with the silver radiator and it did not seem like an eye sore to me.

I've given up on the coolant screens.
I was informed by MB that the part exists but its officially for cars built after June 2018. So while my dealer will order them in for me they will not fit them for me.
They're cheap so I could just get a set and pay an independent to do it (assuming they do fit) but at this point my rads are shot to **** and swapping out of the GTR into the Clubsport is on the cards for the not too distant future.
Unrelated I had my car serviced recently and there was a software update(no specifics on what it does) but mine does seem to have a smidge more go in it now but maybe that's just wishful thinking!

Look what finally turned up at my dealer.
I ordered them awhile ago. Now I am trying to get the official approval from MD US to install and pay for them.
Once again nobody at MB US knows anything.
While at the dealership we were trying to see if it was going to be a easy install or a time consuming one.
Hopefully we won’t have to remove the bumper.

I will ask my dealer tonight. I know they are speaking with the reps about the AMG GTR Pro tonight.

This was what I came up against in the UK.
They'll happily sell me the parts but won't fit them for me as they're not approved parts for my GTR. I don't think getting them approved will be possible so the only option is 3rd party fitment.

We all need to continue to nudge this and the Track Pace App or they will fade away.

Track Pace App is available here, it went from "embarrassingly bad" to "pretty good" in various updates over the last year. Its definitely something that MB would have no issues with on a world wide release now.
I imagine that its simply red tape that is delaying it's US release. Not sure there will be much you guys can do but wait on that one!

My guy seemed to think that MB would want to do full heat testing (ie check if the tiny reduction in airflow from the guards would effect oil cooling) and as such approval was unlikely.
In even more ridiculous news there is still no bracket for the fire extinguisher that was included in the track pack!

So here we are on December 18 2020 and MB dealer in south Florida says this part won't fit the Driver's side cooler. My 2018 AMG GT has a protective screen on the Passenger side, but wide open on the Driver's side. Does anyone here have any personal information if a protective screen is available for the Driver's side yet? As of yesterday, the dealer and MBUSA (worthless) says no. I say BS.

Did they only do the screens that are right against the forward face of the radiators, or did they also include the open mesh screen that is a few inches forward of the radiator, like on some of the 2016-17 models?
Did you have to leave it for a few days? That job appears to require removal of the front bodywork assembly.

no forward mesh; just the added plastic that is now included as standard. The job was same day - pretty sure they have to remove the bumper to do it, but no sign of having to do so (which is the way it should be)!
