Expel PPF
thanks guys in advance
but I will jump in this time and offer you my two cents. Not a fan of expel and this group is probably split, but Sun Tech ultra just came out and it’s thinner and flatter. I paid $1800 for my front clip from a local installer in Atlanta. Price will not guarantee a job well done but I say look further. Really helps that installer has the machine that precuts the PPf and it shows an investment. Cash is king as well.
My opinion, to my eye when comparing Suntek vs Xpel, SunTek was the clearest best visual appearance, so I went with that and found the best installer I could at the time that worked with Suntek.
My own personal experience, I put it on the ENTIRE car. Why not protect it all I figured I would kick myself putting it in some spots and then an unprotected spot gets damaged, I’d be upset with myself....so don’t be cheap, just put it on as much of the car as you want to make sure stays mint, like I did.
Again, my own thoughts:
Front bumper
headlights
hood
front quarters
rockers
mirrors
all are 100% musts
rear bumper to keep exhaust grime, etc off the paint
rear wing to keep it nice and avoid a chip from rock flying over car and hitting it
a-pillars because they get hit easily
doors and rear quarters to protect them from side scrapes
there, whole car done!
Well worth it. No worries of rock chips or swirl marks. Cleaning is a breeze with a little soap and water. Detail spray between washes. Looks Showroom fresh all the time.
i drove immediately to the detail shop and got the mess cleaned up and the impact left scuff marks on the xpel. I was really glad to have the xpel.

It may vary depending by location, but $3500 seems high to me for front only. I had my full front and read side panels done for less that $2000. I'm a big fan of SunTek. Very happy with the product.

Can get your entire car done the proper way for $5500 here in NYC, Exclusive Vinyl in Long Island. If you are keeping the car is a must.

IMPORTANT: MAKE SURE your insurance company will cover the PPF investment in case of an accident. Example: you rear end someone or your car catches on fire. If you invest $2-6K on your car, make sure that if there is a major loss it is covered. I found that many insurance companies don't cover it.
