Lifting 2016 GTS with QuickJack?

Has anyone tried? The 2, what I assume are lifting points, at the extreme ends of the sill are spaced too far apart to fit on the QuickJack. Could one use the centre emergency jack point and 1 of the rubber points? I assume there would be more weight biased towards the front of the car, so middle and front point? Really looking for a means to get all 4 wheels up in the air for a thorough wheel clean-up before hibernation!

Sounds like a bad plan to set up for an unbalanced situation. How about this:

Buy a regular 5000 jack for $50 and lift one side at a time. Much safer and does not take long at all.

Thanks for this suggestion, I didn't realize they made an extension to effectively make an BL-*000SLX a BL-*000EXT!

Sadly it's too new and not available in Canada yet but this would definitely solve the problem. For those who are considering a QuickJack and are interested, there is a 62" spacing between front and rear lifting points but with this extension an SLX version is 'stretched' from 60" to 66".

It doesn't get much quicker than using the QuickJack and all 4 wheels are lifted at the same time and the jack 'locks out' so axle stands are not required. I originally had it for a DB9 as it's pretty much the only safe way to lift the car without risking damage to the chassis other than a 2 or 4 post shop lift.

I'll second that. I dont have an AMG GT, but I do have a quick jack, and its been one of the best investments ever. Its been great for large jobs like transmission drops, to simply raising the car up a little to make detailing easier. I highly recommend the quick jack if a 2 post isnt possible. Even if I ever do have a 2 post, Ill probably keep the quick jack for simple jobs.

The only drawback is that you cannot get under the car from the sides. IMHO.

Yes- QuickJack 7000EXT . Ordered from Eastwood Company. Awesome product!!!

My car is lowered so I would have to drive over wooden pieces (2"x6") to raise it a bit to get the lift slide under.

Just a quick update for future reference. After attempting to contact QJ directly (unsuccessfully) as they no longer have a Canadian distributor (other than CostCo and they don’t sell accessories), I purchased a couple of lengths of 3” steel channel cut to 64”. With a hockey puck trimmed to fit inside the channel and a spacer beneath that, the puck extends 1/4” above the side wall of the channel and is sufficient to contact the lifting points on the car correctly. On a stock suspension setup there’s just enough clearance to slide the jack with channel in from the side as you would normally.

You don't need a CDN distributor. Have it shipped to a UPS Store in the US and they will forward it. I do that all the time - usually much cheaper too.

I had a quickjack 5000 and it was fabulous, I just got tired of dragging it out with the amount of work I was doing for myself and my friends. Just another option if you have the garage space, you need a garage that's 2.5 cars wide, or give up one bay.

I have a dammar Maxjaxx now MX6 and I wall mounted the pump and ran longer hoses across the ceiling. I can get under the car on a low stool and love the ease/convenience. I have 10' garage ceilings so it's been great.

no, its never been this tidy since...

I miss this old girl, but she got too much attention from people wanting to race or rub up on it..
