Winter storage help

im ready to store my car for the winter. It’s getting cold and there is a lot of debris on the road.

I was was wondering if I should change my oil before or after storage. The car is a 2018 GTS. There are only 1500 miles on the car.

My state inspection slso also expires in January. I don’t plan on driving it to the Dealer in a snow storm . I can get that done early and rest the clock to a different month or wait til I take the car out of storage . I won’t be ticketed while the car is hibernating . When should I get that done?

Just do both. Then when your ready to drive, just pull it out and drive.

My 16 Edition 1 had the lithiumion battery and my AMG mechanic recommended hooking up the Cteck charger that came with the car as mine was usually parked for five months or so.

I will wash , wax, seal and detail the car . Hook up the battery tender. Inflate the tires and cover the car. I just wasn’t sure if it better to replace oil before storage or put in fresh oil in the spring .

With so few miles on the car I wouldnt change the oil until the Spring. Also if you do get a couple of decent days, I would pull it outside an let it run until the temps have stabilized.

I’ll be a real nice guy and store it for you down here in sunny and warm Jacksonville, FL. I’ll even take it out for a spin a couple of times a week so it continues to run in top notch condition.

I’m sure you would find my lowly Solarbeam yellow GTS a disappointing ride compared to your GTR!

The only other thing you might consider is to lift the tires off of the floor. That way you won’t runthe risk of flat spots.

Of course you could avoid all of that effort and ship it down here to nice warm and sunny Jacksonville, FL and I’ll drive it around for you.

Not sure what area you live but besides the info everyone provided, don't forget to do some rodent repellant of some kind. I've seen some crazy carnage that mice do over the winter to our wiring harnesses, it gets real expensive to repair. If anyone on here has any advice besides moth *****, Irish spring soap bars and fabric softener, I would like to know as well.
