feeling light weight front axle

hi every body

(and sorry for my english,i am french)

i have a 17 GT C roadster and 991 turbo mk2,I switch car every week

turbo is fantastic, and amg too this is not the question

but I feel the steering of the amg very very ligth , without return on line in any mode (C,S,S+,race)?

at any speed the steering is very "sensible"i can drive with two finger?

I try different pressure in tire 32psi to 36psi it the same the front wheel seem on ice,yes the car turn ,and don't slip ,but it realy ligth

do you think it is normal? or I need an alignement?

the 991 turbo with his lightest front axle seem more heavy, and steering with his electric motor more natural than the hydraulic steering of the mercedes

The AWS of the GT C/GT R does make the steering feel extremely ‘light’ at low speeds IMHO, especially in tight turns, although at higher speeds the steering firms up nicely in Sport/Sport+/Race, at least it does in my GT R.

Hopefully someone who owns a GT C with give you their opinion soon.

19 AMG GT R, 20 Porsche Cayenne
I don’t have exact what you have, in my case, I have a .2 C2 and comparing to my GT R, the Porsche is a bit well weighted, but the AMG is not loosely light to me. They offer different feedbacks in my opinion.

Do you feel more of that “light” steering feel when making turns? Or just in general it’s “loosely light weighted” to you?

i feel steering very light and i can drive with two fingers, and this affect my precision on the road

when i jump in the GTC after the 991 turbo in the firsts turn i must be carful to moderate the steering movement and amplitude

So I just drove the GT R today and even in ‘Sport’ the steering has considerable ‘weight’ to it. I could not steer with two fingers; at least not for very long.

GT C owners?

Re: alignment. If it’s significantly off it could very well make the front end feel somewhat nervous and prone to follow any imperfections in the road surface. Have it checked and see if the Toe is off.

Interesting, my GT goes for service this week and I'm gonna ask for a full geo check, as light steering and twitchy front end is something that I've complained about from day-1.

I'll report back on Friday.

I've never liked the steering dynamics, feeling they were on the border of abnormal, yet no such issues with other owners!

Had the alignment checked and only one minor adjustment was required, so while I haven't driven it, I'm not expecting anything earth shattering.

Was really hoping the camber was off tbh.......

Need to drive another GT/GTS on the same rim sizes.

Collected the car today after a B1 service and full geo check. 2-parameters were marginal/on the limit, so they made small adjustments. Could be placebo effect, but the car has lost the nervousness/pointy/chasing feel. Still very light, less so in S+.

They could just be very sensitive, if you're also that way inclined, so my advice, spend €50 and have it checked.
