So @ZephyrAMG looks like your car doesn't actually have the privacy shade (or "luggage cover" as MB refers to it). So weird. This is the shade in the car from my original post, whereas most GTRs have the metal (plastic?) piece with the embossed AMG logo in its place:
No it’s not the cargo cover! Lol. Many of you guys with GTRs just say you have it; but have no clue what you have. We are talking about the retractable shade. It’s a big miss not to have it. The car is not light by any means, so it should be installed. I’m glad my GTC has it.
One or the other is necessary for safety if there is anything kept in the trunk that can become ballistic during a collision or even hard braking. The net screen is ugly and the cargo cover limits the size of stuff that can be kept in the trunk. If I had a choice, I would take the cover but in the US ale GTRs were offered with the net only.
