Horsepower Differences Between Models
Are the HP and torque differences between the GT, GTS, GTC, and GTR simply derived from adjustments to the programming of the ECU? Or are there additional hardware bits needed to increase the power from one model to the next?

GTR has forged pistons and higher compression where the GT and GTS do not.. I don't think this adds to the power and torque though, more of an over-engineering thing.
As for the power differences, I'd guess that's more with tuning.

I'm hoping it's all the same but the phrase "new forged aluminum pistons" makes me wonder.

Saw this. GT and GTS motors are the same. They should both make the same horsepower when tuned. I have confirmed this with multiple tuners if you have a 17-18 GT.

The turbos on the GTR/GTC have twin scrolls, which make them better and give them more power. From everything I have seen though, when tuned, it's pretty much a drivers race between all models.
