Has anyone had any issues with the lighter in the center console of their GTS not working? The ring light around the lighter works, but my radar detector will not turn on when plugged in. I don't think it's the fuse since the ring light around it is on...I've tried to plug other things into to just to double check but nothing turns on. Hate to take the car in for something so minor and wanted to check in here first.

 

Have you tried turning the radar detector plug to different quadrants when plugging it in? Sometimes that can be the issue.

 

yes, it's not that. I have plugged other things into it and it doesn't work.

 

I wouldn’t assume it’s not a fuse bc of the light. The light may be a different circuit.

 

Probably the current drain is too high. The lighter socket limits the current more than the main 12V sockets. You can’t plug anything into the lighter socket like you can the “main” 12V.
