There was a car show at the Country Club today. Nothing too big but a lot of great people. Met a gentleman who owns the 1964 Porsche 356C in the pics. He was a very interesting guy. Has owned the car for 52 years. He's the second owner and bought it back in 1968. Was telling me how he actually lived in it for a year and a half. He would shower at the beach or wherever. Best part was all of the Mulholland Drive racing stories he had with this car. Was serious stuff back in the day I guess. He also used to race on the Bonneville Salt Flats as well. Car was pretty original and mint for what it has been through from the stories he told me. Something else really funny he mentioned was now that he's gotten a lot older. Is how much he likes driving the speed limit these days. He says he can enjoy all the beautiful scenery in front of him now instead of missing it because of constantly looking/checking the rear view mirror for cops - lol.

All good. I like Porsches too, have one and lots of friends have them too. Like to run my AMG on track with them too.
Mulholland drive is right by my house and growing up I used to race it in my race prepped 240Z. It was too much fun for a 20 year old to have. Now 30 years later it is still too much fun for a 50 year old to have in my GTC, There is more traffic and police now but it is still a hoot!

There a stretch between Coldwater and a Laurel Canyon that is famous for racing since the 50s. There was even a show on MoterTrend TV that detailed it’s history and the abandoned crashed cars off the cliff. Mulholland highway is also raced but the classic is the one in the Hollywood hills.

I was up there all the time the 80's but I never stopped to shoot the breeze and wait for the cops to show up.
