The whole conversation seems to have devolved quite a bit. Now it's just about pricing and how many miles on the car... Razzy, have you even driven a single GT model? If so, which one did you like the most and why?
Anyways, you Canadians are lucky with these nice prices. Except the Edition 1 GTS. That thing is completely overpriced compared to the GTR's etc.

In your opinion, why so you think the Edition 1 GTS is overpriced? There are similar km cars and 2016/2017 MY for high 90’s to low 100’s.

There is a US Dollar $50-$60k delta between a GTR and that GTS here. You have a smaller variance even in Canadian $. 3 year age difference!
Simply makes the GTR a better buy. Plus the car looks much better from every angle (my opinion of course), drives much better (fact), has rear wheel steering, adjustable traction control, suspension is height adjustable, great exhaust and most of all has a better resale value since it's 3-4 years newer and a current model. GTS is dead-ended which will impact resale value.

I could be mistaken, but if it doesn't have the copper brakes, it doesnt have carbon ceramics.

Hello! I would not buy a GTC as i have had a disaster with mine letting in water to the extent it is totally ruined!!! It has been in main dealer for over a month and Mercedes have been less than helpful and are refusing to repair the car under warranty!!! It cost me over £100,000.00 and has done 3,000miles and is now unusable.
I would buy a Porsche 911turbo or GT3. Porsche would never treat their customers so badly. Good luck!!

Really sorry to hear of this.
One piece of advice: use the UK/EU version of the ‘Lemon law’ if such a thing exists. Don’t keep wasting your time locally; let your solicitor take care of it from now on.

But customers are responsible to keep the drain channels clear.
A friend with a Porsche cabrio had a similar issue. He didn’t keep the drains clear and rain did major damage to the internal computers.

The dealer that performed the most recent service should be liable - assuming they did the A or B Service - under these they are supposed to check all the water drain channels to ensure they are unclogged.

Hello! I bought my car in 2018 it has roughly 3,000 miles on the clock. It has always been kept in a garage under its AMG cover and i have an accredited valet guy who comes on a weekly/fortnightly basis to look after our vehicles. The week of Monday 18th Nov 2019 i was really busy so left the car outside for a few days instead of returning it to the garage. During this time it rained. On 22 Nov i went to put it away, only to find the key wouldn't work and ended up having to access the car manually, only to find it was filled with water every where!!!! It was collected and taken to dealership the next day and is still there. It is ruined, all the electrics are fried. I have been unable to access any reports as just after these pictures were taken to send off to Mercedes UK by the garage ( who said this shouldn't have happened and thought it would be no issue that Mercedes UK would sign it off to be put back together under warranty). Since then total shut down in comunication. Anyway....... it's ongoing and i have very little info and no car. Whats even worse is, i have been advised that such water damage to the electric will mean that there is a very high likely hood that the car will always have issues!!!! I am devastated.

Have hope, @Furia! First, everything can be fixed. All the wiring will likely need to be replaced, which means it will be like new when done.
Second, I would deal with Mercedes Germany. You have the flagship AMG, which was recently serviced, during which time the drains should have been checked. I would contact the AMG Private Lounge by email and get their help.

I can’t see how that much water could have gotten in if the drain channels were blocked (not to mention how would they have become blocked on a car that’s 1 year old with 3K miles that’s normally kept indoors?).
The top opens/closes from outside if you hold the key fob button down, correct?

Hate to say this, but have you considered the possibility of vandals? That is an awful lot of water. Any surveillance where you parked the car?

Hi Thebishman.
Surge does now realise this is a genuine issue with my car and considering Mercedes say they have spent around 55hrs stripping it down to find whatever the issue is!! I think this is a real issue that needs addressing. Re drainage pipes, if a blockage could cause so much damage and render the car unfit for purpose any reasonable person would say that it was a design fault. Also you would think there would have to be clear warning stickers in those areas!! Where ever they are????

I just found out I have the exact same issue and Mercedes is refusing to do anything ... even though it had its 20000 mile service less than 2000 miles ago ... it only has 16k on it. Push button start does not work ... looks like a $5-6K bill

So as mentioned earlier, there are no drain plugs to clear. I spoke to my AMG Service Tech and he claimed there is nothing to clean out. Does the owners' manual mention this as a maintenance step?

I have not actually seem these drain holes but have been assured by the mercedes dealer that they exist and are plugged.
BTW my car is always garage kept and has never been left out in the rain. I did drive it on a 200 mile trip and passed through some big rain storms ... that is all it took for this to happen.
