I deactivated the Devil in 2009 (FB) and this has been my go to for Benz and other cars since 2001. This is the best Benz forum hands down with real owners and real posts the majority of the time. I have never met the likes of (for example):
Bishman
California John
ZephyrAMG
Rock
benzbell
dbassons55
emericr
AMG_17GT
Wolfman
Jswan724
But these guys are my friends--- I know their tones and respect their input greatly. I never would get that elsewhere IMHO.
And countless other brilliant members who have provided robust posts and pics. But its members like the above (and soooo many others) that make this a daily home for me. This is my place for all things Benz and GT cars.
Not a forum but the AMG GT OWNERS Facebook group is fairly active.
I’m fairly new to this forum but a moderator on a couple others and have been pleasantly surprised with the number of posts based on the production numbers for this car.

As Wolf said, especially in the dying age of message boards, this one is the most active that I've seen for our vehicles.
I don't know where you get your information, but forums are flourishing in every sector. People are fleeing Facebook over privacy concerns, which is why they started 'groups'; to compete with forums which still drive a large amount of traffic on the net and have proven revenue models.

I used to run a forum that saw peak organic traffic in the realm of 14 million per month. You're very much mistaken if you think anyone "fleeing" facebook is jumping ship to message boards. Reddit, instagram, twitter, etc are the places they usually end up at. But even then, Facebook is still very much the top dog, and that's not changing any time soon.
Also cars that that all around excellent to begin with, there isn’t much tearing down and modifying constantly. So sometimes the forum can seem slow...
That’s when we turn to posting pics!
Just for fun..

Social media has tried to turn the Internet into a popularity contest. The core value of the internet is information and good forums have evolved as massive resources. With privacy taking the forefront in the 2020s, I think forums will continue to thrive. YMMV.
I prefer the Forum format also but for my other two cars, the Facebook group has 10x the amount of activity than the forums. It's annoying trying to wade through the information on social media. Several of the car forums I participated in a decade ago have shut down.

Vic:
I think I speak for everyone you listed above when I say we greatly appreciate your friendship and willingness to share your vast knowledge and experiences with us.
I wish we were all closer together geographically. It would be great to meet up for beers and a canyon run or two occasionally.
This is where I'm sipping morning tea and preparing babe pictures for the forum As well as other times of the day to see what's what, what's hot and what's not.

Thanks very much for your friendship.
Jerry
Thanks Jerry and to all...
Jerry I like beer a lot so the canyon run would have to go first and then we would hit the ocean, park the cars securely and enjoy those cold ones. Or maybe we would just skip the canyon run LOL.
I agree with the kind sentiments and appreciate it guys/Vic. Distance is a bummer, if we ethusiats were closer geographically, morining coffee and car meets and cruises for food and drink would be tons of fun. But thank goodness for forums and the media methods of our time. It has, in essence, "brought us together"...and I'll definitely take it anyday...Thats why I come here: to feed my cravings of interests we all have in common...

I couldn’t agree more! I despise social media in all its guises. This forum is real. Cheers and thanks!

Concur wholly. When this forum was founded back in 2001 by Simon and Brad, the majority of the members were West Coast so we could really put faces to names. Things have changed in 20 years no doubt but now we rely on the value of articulation.
I was looking for other Benz forums and the ones I found are either dead or not alive LOL.

Vic,
That Canyon run will cut into the beer time far too much I fear. Hence straight to the bar!!!! lol
X63 with what Vic said. Thanks for the kind words and I think the guys on this forum will give you their honest opinions on non MB cars which is rather rare these day.
Vic: have you driven the new M5 Comp yet. I was waiting for you to temporarily own one and give us your feedback.

I have this which is tuned to be faster than the CE M5... its a very very fast car from a dig and is a real good daily driver. I had to modify the exhaust to get the experience adjusted. With the tune the car is running draggy times around 10.6 to 10.8 and 129.xx traps. The launches are brutal and the grip is amazing. I got a First Edition car so the paint is OEM matte dark red with white interior. Its a good car and I still enjoy it well after a year's worth of ownership.

Love the M5! If you had to make a choice between the M5 and your GTS, assuming you also did not have the other fun cars in your stable, which would you choose? I recognize we're on a MB forum.
Vic: gorgeous combo and love the matte paint but you knew that.
How does it compare to your Ed1 E63?
How's the BMW matte paint? The MB matte is really good and the early report of the frost paint on the M3 were not favorable.
They were throwing stupid lease prices on 19 left over M5s last year and was tempted. Even tuned, it seems it's still quite slower than my tuned grocery getter Trackhawk.
