"Sport Handling Mode" on dash

Hi guys,

Just a minor annoyance... every time I start up the car and turn the dial to Individual mode, I'm met with a "Sport Handling Mode" message in the dash that will not disappear until I clear it with the OK button on the steering wheel. Is there any way to avoid having that message pop up?

First world problem, I know

That's strange, as the only time I get that message is when in Race Mode.

What are your I Mode settings?

Everything is in Sport Plus, apart from the suspension, which is in Comfort.

That's odd, as I have the same for mine. Maybe try changing them all out, switching to it, then ticking each box one at a time and see which is the culprit, or if it goes away completely.

You must have ESP set to Sport in your individual settings as well. That's what would be causing this message. As far as I know you can't avoid it. It's to make sure you are aware that ESP is in reduced mode. In my 2019 C63S with the digital instrument cluster I get the message, but in addition there is another indicator at the top that shows ESP Sport. I can ok the message away, but the ESP Sport indicator stays on. All for good reasons I suppose. With the FL models including the AMG GT, ESP Sport has been decoupled from the drive modes with the introduction of the AMG DYNAMICS system, so now the only way to turn on ESP Spot and get this message is by pressing the ESP button in addition to the current drive mode.

Can confirm. Just tested it and the ESP option is def the one that prompts the warning in the dash. I had forgotten that you could set ESP at in in I*.

I'll have to try messing with the ESP setting tonight, to see if that eliminates it. I'm sure it'll limit my ability to pull sweet drifts out of the office parking lot, but it's a sacrifice I'm willing to make. Thanks for the tip!

As stated, it is to warn you that the stability control has loosened up a bit. In sport handling you are allowed a fairly good amount of wheel spin and slip angle, so be warned. Race amps it up a bit further.

Can confirm, switching the ESP back from "Sport" to "On" eliminated the message on startup. Thanks guys!
