Trade in 19 c63s Coupe for 19 GT C Coupe? Worth it?

hey guys, i bought a 19 c63s coupe last year and was SO disappointed with the lack of pops and crackles I was expecting. I found a brand new 19 GT C and am supposed to pick it up tomorrow but I can't find many reviews on the car that mention the exhaust and if it has that beautiful AMG character that the c63s was lacking. Does the 19 have the great pops and crackles on downshift that the 19 c63s was severely lacking?

I really appreciate the assistance. I dont wanna be disappointed again like I was with the c class.

Thanks guys!

If you’re picking it up tomorrow , isn’t this post useless?

I haven't paid for it yet. The GTC is more horsepower and not sure if it was quieted due to the supposed EU standards that the c63s apparently faced.
.
.
Ps.. thanks for the worthless response. Big help. Asking for help before I spend $130k on a car.

The 19 has lots of pops and crackles, the 20 gets neutered! It’s a very different animal compared to the C63. You’ll love it if you enjoy driving a car not a soulless computerized simulation!

Thats SO good to hear man. Thank you. I bought the 19 63s expecting great things, had the first one on the east coast and I was heartbroken when the pops and crackles never showed up. Didnt wanna chance it again. I appreciate tour help man!

Yeah, in sport or sport plus it makes lots of pops and crackles on upshifts and when you let off the gas quickly. In comfort is is neighborhood friendly! You also get rear wheel steering with the GTC and a true DCT.

I've had both and if all you're looking for is exhaust pops you are absolutely wasting your money. They pop and crackle almost the same - certainly not enough to make a change - makes no sense.

Looking for more performance as well but the 19 c63s was a huge disappointment sound wise compared to all other years.. I am just trying to make sure thats not the case with all 19 AMG and was confined to the c63. The 503 hp c63 to the 553 hp GTC means its a more tuned motor and i am hoping that equates to a sound more synonymous with AMG of the past.

In your original post you said you had an C63S (it's also the one with the 553 HP) - they have the sport exhaust - the non-S like you just noted doesn't - there will be a material change from that. Still doesn't make sense as your primary motivator though; not enough to trade in on and expect a $$$ difference. There is a bunch of other reasons to consider a trade but IMHO zero of them should be for the exhaust note.

If that is 90% of your motivation save your money and buy a cat back set up from Meisterschaft. It's your money but if it were mine, I wouldn't do it for that. The C63S is a good car and the GT -C has a bunch of benefits over it, but exhaust isn't really one of them

It’s not a worthless response , only honest. There are a ton of reviews of the GTC. Feel free to actually read them and not wait for
the Readers Digest version.

I got the GTC 19, you won't regret it, plenty of pops and crackles, make sure you have it in Sport+ or Race.

No, there are not many of the 19 coupe reviews specifically at all. I've searched YouTube, internet, forums so I thought I'd ask here, only to have you waste my time with your worthless, presumptuous response as stated earlier.

I personally would not "downgrade" to a pre facelift model. I'd be looking at 2020 GTC/GTR and catted downpipes to solve the sound problem.

Not a downgrade at all. I prefer the 19 interior and dash set up over the 20 tech square buttons and flat set up.. ill miss the digital screen maybe but thts about it

I agree with this. I wouldn't buy a 2020 just because I don't like the facelifted interior.

How about a test drive before you plank down $130k and see if it lives up to your expectations?

in my opinion, nothing is worth it trading this for that. also i feel you are annoyed about the crackles and muted sound. but i would expected for vehicles that is year 2020 and after. any vehicle that is year 2020 and after will be muted(doesnt sound as loud as before) and have less crackles, that goes for lambos also. anyways like i said your 2019 c63s i am surprised its stock is like this. i was so pissed off when i traded my 2017 r8 for 2020 r8. all north america dealers will said the OPF otta particle filter is for Europe only. either way all north america although doesnt have OPF for year 2020 sport cars. they still doesnt sound as good as before and have less crackles or even have no crackles during down shifts. with all the money you are losing just to change for a gtc, i would use that money to mod the c63s. with downpipes you should also increase your horsepower.

but if it was me, i would keep the 2019 c63s. just downpipe it, tune it, and change the exhaust system. your should have it louder that stock and lots of crackles. even with the 2020 AMG GTR, GTS, GTC, AMG GTR PRO whatever version there is. its going to sound muted and have less or barley any crackles during down shifts. and this goes for mercedes, audi, lamborghini. i would recommend FI exhaust and down pipes. and personally i believe c63s can have a lot of fun and less worries too. cheaper on insurance, but i think money is not your concern. and its a nice looking rear wheel car.

For the https://www.active-sound.eu/en/merce...-valve-control module ...

I got this for my GTC and I love it. When I start the car, I immediately switch from C to I mode to get the full open exhaust sound. Someone on this forum thought that would be annoying to do, but not annoying to use other exhaust options where you have to push a button on a fob to get full exhaust sound.

This is a great option if you want to keep your mods easily reversible.
