Battery Part No 000-982-77-10

Replacing the battery in my car, 2016 GTs, which was bought from a salvage auction. This is Mercedes current part number for the battery 000-982-77-10. Does anybody know if this is a LI-Ion battery? After reviewing previous posts, I am going with either an Aftershock if I can find it or an AGM. Anybody have a bad experience with replacement batteries other than factory/dealer battery?

AMG GTS (gone - lemon)
In the same boat Frank, what did you find out? I cannot find anything on search about these "Aftershock", part number or where to buy them. Anyone know? Thanks

Hello,

You can absolutely run an AGM battery. I ran a AGM battery in mine for half a season with no issues. Only thing with the AGM was lost functionality of the start/stop function. Could possibly be the additional plug that doesn’t get used with any battery other than the stock Lithium??…I ended up saved considerable amount of money patiently found the stock lithium battery on EBay for $500. The seller even dropped it off to my home (Canada to Detroit area) Got lucky he was making part run drop offs in my area.

I'm running an AGM battery in a 2017 GT S and it works fine enough, though as john5 mentioned you'll lose the auto-stop start functionality.
You may also run into this battery error message but from my limited reading this error can also be due to other electrical issues.
Haven't heard about the Aftershock batteries before now, but my plan is to hunt for an OEM replacement in hopes of solving the annoying error message popups.
