New Guy Here

Hello all, been lurking around here for a few weeks as I am looking to get into an AMG GT S. I'm coming from a lightly modded Dodge Challenger Hellcat which has been a blast but on to new things. I've found quite a few decent deals out there but have come across an interesting similarity. I've found several cars with under 30k miles on them (mainly 2016's) that have already had 2 and three owners. That has made me a little nervous and I was wondering do you all typically jump out of them that quick?

Simply put, yes. I tend to switch between cars every 8-16 months, because I like trying out different things. That doesn't mean there's anything wrong with the cars, just that the owners have short automotive attention spans.

exotic cars tend to change hands quite a bit, even with low miles....very common.

Others of us hang on to these for the long term, especially the versions with the analog dash...

I just bought a GT C and also noticed the amount cars for sale with only a couple hundred miles which had me wondering. I saw several that were sold after less than 30 days of ownership. Also noticed the rapid depreciation but didn't buy it to make money.

I got rid of my Demon to make room for the GT C....like you said on to new things. Loved the Demon but there are sooo many Challengers out there. Looking forward to the new experience.

It's only a theory, but this is MB's only true sportscar & while certainly "luxurious", it definitely doesn't ride like the typical Mercedes. I have little doubt that there are a relatively high number of Mercedes daily driver owners that buy a GT variant & it's their first sportscar. A few weeks in & they may decide it's not what they thought it would be and trade out. And for the many others, it's a second or third car that only gets driven occasionally, keeping the miles low. For depreciation, they are better than most AMG's & seem to be relatively flat around 75-80k outside of the high mileage examples.

Its the upward curve addiction and it rolls fast in sports cars. ! You go from from a Hellcat, then to a AMG GT euro sports car, then that feels so good that in 18 months you will have to have that Mclaren next!

Bottom line, they are great cars , most with low miles and second hand they are a steal in prices.
