We just downsized from a 6 car gar with a lift to a two car and your pic is how I feel sometimes just getting two in and opening the doors enough to get out of the car I last parked...LOL
Wish my HOA would approve the garage I wanna build.
I chose a neighborhood that would allow my garage goals for exactly this reason. Im pretty easy when it comes to most design guidelines, but the garage needs to be yuuuuge!
Good Job! You gotta do what you gotta do to keep safe. The garage is man's sanctuary...I've been sent there on many occasions and have had relationships end over the garage...
Great job. I was expecting a lift lol.
Is that an Orion Blue SLK55 on left.
I just sold my GT and bought an 05 SLK55 in Orion blue as a daily driver.
I can't believe how easily you can spin the tires in that thing.
Not sure where you are located but for now, it's just been a lot of rain in Naples.
I live just north in Cape Coral ... and we did get some wind and a lot of rain ... but nothing serious however we may have round II coming once it heads back inland. The SLC43 was a present for my son when he graduated university ... but he had the slk55 before that. It was a great car but not a good wet weather car as it seem to have leaks pop up everything it rained especially in heavy rain. As you can tell ... mostly German cars with the exception of the abarth. BUT my favorite all around car is the 19' Golf R performance pack (not shown) ... that thing is just perfect in all ways as a daily driver ... I have had that car well over 160mph stock from the factory, it will take on 95% of the cars on the road from a dig, handles great even on wet roads, and will haul a lot of cargo ... what else could you ask for.
I wish I was allowed to have 3 cars in our 3 car garage.... I'm slowly working to put in a lift, but I'm not sure I'm happy with the clearance for 10' ceilings & the garage door company isn't particularly helpful about raising my door tracks.
^Ten feet is a tight squeeze but it can probably be done. My garage ceiling was lifted to 10' 7" to accommodate a four post lift. You also will need a wall mounted door opener and modified door tracks but any good garage door company can easily make that happen.

I did something similar for a 2 post lift for working on cars not storage. I went to a jack drive garage door opener which got rid of the overhead one, and I put in a low rise two post lift

I've considered raising the ceiling in that bay, but haven't gotten with a contractor to discuss feasibility (cost). Unfortunately, for whatever reason, the garage door company I have seems lost after promising that they could raise the tracks in a few hours and it was an easy job. It started with new springs, then "maybe we can't", "how high do you really need it"? etc... I'm thinking they just don't want the work; they previously installed Liftmaster 8500's and new insulated doors for me without issue.

So you are fairly close. Agreed that we only got some rain and I have not heard of any major damages on the news. Cross fingers for today.
The Golf R is a great sleeper car. Only have had the SLK55 for a week or so. Been driving it every day waiting for the new toy and knock on wood, even with all the rain I drove thru, there's no leak inside .
PM your number if you wish and we can let each other know next time we go to a C&C.

I’m using the same side mount lift to buy space above. The drop down portion of our ceiling is 10 ft and I’ve got a touch of room to spare. It’s close - but it works!
