I have no idea what your skill level as a driver is OP, but I can assure you that my 2016 GTS (even without a tune) without any nannies is quite a handful. We seem to be in some ways obsessed with how much power we can get, when we should be obsessed with how much car can we handle as a driver. Drive a rail car through the quarter mile (I used to do things just to feel fear since it is all I can feel) and you will think a 10 second quarter mile is slow. Believe me I have been advocating tuning cars for a pretty long time, but what I see today are a lot of cars that are far more competent than the even better than average driver is. OP my advise is decide what your purpose for the car is, what you want it to have, what you cant live without and you should come up with a pretty good idea of what you should be shopping for. The SUV I have coming in is probably faster (in a straight line) than my GTS and with about 2K it would be faster than any stock AMG GT. I have said this many times before but I know a lot of car people and maybe a very few of them have the skill to handle the cars they own. To me that is a shame, since without that skill they will never really be able to appreciate what they have spent so much money on. I still think Matte paint looks terrible no matter what it is on, but that is like all things that effect the senses, is subjective.
