Sound Upgrade with 10" Subwoofer for GTR
Shape and size seem to look right? Or is it the lack of depth in the door that concerns you. Only a 80mm is shallow enough to fit, perhaps?
I have the stock system at the moment.

These don't fit. Trust me. :-)
I know this 100mm MB speakers. (near identical to the center speaker)
Different mounting points (*****, GT have bolts) , different bolt circle and diameter is too large.
3" (80mm also) fits the Burmester door panels. (On stock locations)
Stock system? Shure? Always thought that didn't exist in the US.
So not a Premium / High End Burmester?
If so, you have no midrange speakers in the doors. (No wiring)
Don´t know the stock doorpanels. (are different)
No Subwoofer.
And (From 2017 models) no rearfill Speakers.
Best regards

By the way, what’s the second connection to the center speaker for anyway? It’s only for the eCall SOS? Or are there other signals being sent to the speaker through those wires?
Can we leave it disconnected if we don’t want eCall SOS.

I can't tell you reliably whether something else is being transmitted via the 2nd coil. But I could imagine the PDC signal. But don't know for sure.
I didn't want to miss out on emergency communication. It's there and doesn't bother me. Think you will get an error message. (safety relevant)
All speakers are monitored. You will get an error message in the star diagnosis, e.g. you have a cable break.
There is an extra loudspeaker in the driver's footwell for car warning signals.

Reviving an older thread. I have the 810 option and I believe the subwoofer is dead and may have been for a while. I am listening to the radio only so I never felt the lack of bass. According to WIS (attached) and to your post above the sub has 2 coils (4 wires) similar to 2 subs?. If so, how can I test both the amp output and the sub? And if I want to replace the sub with a normal sub do you have an advice on how to wire it to the original amp output?
Thank you,
Radu
The answer is right in front of you. :-)
Remove the Subwoofer interior trim in the trunk.
Turn on the ignition. Turn your Radio on. Set the volume to 10%. Turn off the ignition.
Disconnect the plug from the Subwoofer.
Turn on the ignition.
Measure the output signal at the amplifier. (A 20V AC measuring range should be suitable.) Alternatively, connect a speaker between pins 2 (blue/red +) and 1 (blue/black -).
Then do the same again between pins 4 (green/red +) and 3 (green/red -).
You can test the Subwoofer in the same way, for example, by measuring its resistance. (I'd guess around 2 ohms.)
You can also apply a DC voltage of approximately 6 -12V (5A current limited); this will move the cone inwards or outwards.
or a 6 -12V AC 30 - 60 Hz Signal. You can hear it.
Be careful not to short-circuit anything.
Best regards,
Stenzel
