Help with Removal of Inner Trim Cover in Trunk

Appreciate anyone with the knowledge or WIS/EPC access who can assist with the steps to remove this Trim Cover with AMG Logo in Trunk:

In an ironic plot twist, the gnarly adhesive of the 'protective' blue plastic wrap applied by the factory to this AMG logo'd trim piece has significantly marred said piece (i believe it is MB Part #: 1907203402)

Using plastic pry tools and leverage from different angles, etc still does not get this piece to yield for removal, and any additional force will likely break it.

Hi,

You'll need to remove the side panels.
Then you will find 2 Torx screw next to the "plastic banana" on top of the cover.(I believe T 25)Do not try to remove the "plastic banana".It's not working. In the middle of the AMG cover there is also a glued / Velcro-fastened spacer.

Kind regards.

If I understood correctly, the plastic film was removed and the picture is of the tainted metal surface. If that's true, have you tried cleaning the surface with something like lacquer thinner or acetone? I believe it's an anodized finish, so it should withstand such chemicals (and it sounds like you have nothing to lose anyway). HOWEVER, you'll need to slip a piece of cardboard or vapor barrier under the metal piece in order to protect the liner material from the lacquer thinner/acetone as they would almost assuredly damage the liner.

Trim piece is actually a rubber-ized plastic, and sans any metallic overlay. Mild citrus oil cleaners and other solvents were used (Goo Gone, etc) to no avail. The plastic is F*-ed
