fuel filler cap stuck

A few months ago, I upgraded from a highly modified W201 to a C190 and I noticed it is difficult (or it is different) to open the fuel filler cap.

If I press exactly where the switch button is located, it is relatively easier than impossible, but still difficult as I need to exert more force than I think is normally necessary.

Is this normal?
Can the position of the switch be moved?
or is it 100% locked into position?

Get a spray can with clear silicone, spray around the black plastic piston and manually push that same piston in several time so the silicone will reach the spring located behind.

It did work for me to make it easier to open
