fuel filler cap stuck

fuel filler cap stuck
A few months ago, I upgraded from a highly modified W201 to a C190 and I noticed it is difficult (or it is different) to open the fuel filler cap.
If I press exactly where the switch button is located, it is relatively easier than impossible, but still difficult as I need to exert more force than I think is normally necessary.
Is this normal?
Can the position of the switch be moved?
or is it 100% locked into position?
