Thoughts on 2016 GT S, 19 month gap in oil change
I just sold my C63s (absolutely loved it, but want something lighter and lower), and have been looking for a GT S as a weekend/fun car (I drive a BMW i3 to work most days). A majority of cars I look at seem to have gaps in their oil change history, some 3 or more years. Hard to find a car with a clean history from 2016 until today with no gaps. There is a car fairly close to me, edition 1 with 20,000 miles. It's had regular service, except for a 19 month gap between August 2017 and May 2019, 3,000 miles total between oil services.
Have others seen similar cars with these gaps, and what are your experiences if you purchased? I'm trying to get other opinions on if I am being too picky on service history or if am being properly picky.
Thanks for your help!
Aaron

It's less likely that owners of cars like these neglect maintenance. It is very possible that the oil change during that period might have been done by an independent or a DIY. Oil change on most cars these days seem to fit a mileage/time interval. The time interval is often 12 months. So, in 19 months, it is possible a change might have been missed, also possible the car could have been sitting idle and unused during that period.
It would be a shame if the car fit your needs, but for this single issue.

I do the maintenance on my GTC MYSELF. I have all the records for service in my record book. PS I put my GTC up for sale on Autotrader. its an 18 GTC white with red convertible top.
