has anyone lowered the car and not run wheel spacers? i hate the paint damage caused by spacers and swore that i'd never run them again (even with PPF you still chunk the finish), but how bad does the car look lowered with the big shadow cast over the sidewall? does it create a more narrow track-width look? thanks.

Though I haven’t done this on my AMG GTS, I had done this on my E450 Coupe. I would not recommend it. It was lowered on stock wheels without spacers and the rear sat lower than the front and gave it a bagged look. It was only until I threw on an aftermarket set of wheels with the right offset when the car looked decent and proper. Not sure if this pic will help this is the lowered with oem wheels.

The last pic is with the aftermarket set with right offset. First two when it was lowered on stock wheels.

PS: What paint damage did you go through due to spacers? I may run spacers on my gts at some point but won't lower it likely. Just been trying to figure out what size of spacers I should go with on OEM wheels.

Here’s my car on H&R springs - no spacers. It didn’t look as bad as I’ve seen on other cars but I would still recommend at least some 10mm on there to make it look mint.

Also don’t worry about rubbing. You won’t hit the fenders with a mild spacer.

yea, definitely need spacers, haha.

i've always had paint damage from debris kicked up behind the wheels when i'm running spacers. it never fails. i may have a double layer of PPF done in those areas.

Thanks! This was WITHOUT spacers. I had ordered some but sent them back before using them since I ended up having aftermarket wheels built.

love it! so my next and most important question is....how's the ride quality on the H&R's compared to stock? these cars have pretty awful ride quality on bad roads and i'd hate to make it even 5% worse. I've used H&R on a half dozen cars and the ride quality was always equally good as stock, if not better, so it would be fantastic if that's the case with the GTS.

I have been running H&R and they are great. No spacers and stock wheels.

Lowering height is just what I wanted with no rubbing. 👍
