Mine does too and to be honest it is a bit irritating. My elbow sometimes hits it and boom up goes the lid. I am pretty sure all the cars behind me point and laugh. I feel bullied

I've never tried my lane assist when I get back from London for work I'll give it a whirl. To be honest I am not sure I really want my car recentering itself in the lane. I like the idea of a vibration maybe a noise but I can see where it recentering in lane might become a hazard.
